Fri 13 May 2016	'The world of the oboe, cor anglais and oboe d’amore' - Louise Braithwaite - An insight into the life of an oboist and her work with the Orchestra of the Swan, demonstrating the instrumental versatility with works by Vaughan Williams, Wagner and others. Louise will be accompanied by Orchestra of the Swan cellist, Anna Joubert

Wed 22 June 2016	'A Musical Cocktail' - Papagena - 'A young, female Hilliard Ensemble' (The Prickle Arts, Edinburgh) - Singing works from Purcell to Katy Perry, Hildegard of Bingen to Imogen Heap, this a cappella group explores the wealth of music from medieval times to the present day, written specifically for female voices. All its members have performed with leading vocal groups in the UK, including The Sixteen, Tenebrae, Ex Cathedra and BBC Singers. Papagena's website
Wed 29 June 2016	'Michael Seal and Peter Hill in Conversation' - Michael Seal, Associate Conductor of the CBSO, discusses the ups and downs of life as a musician with Peter Hill (the recently-retired CBSO timpanist) - Peter was noted by Sir Simon Rattle as "Britain's finest timpanist" and, with his own brand of wit, has many interesting stories to tell. Guaranteed to be an entertaining hour of chat and reminiscences.
Wed 6 July 2016	'Schubert's Octet' - Enjoy this evergreen and delightful work of Franz Schubert. Written in six movements in 1824, it is Schubert at his purest and best, and is thoroughly enjoyable, whether being heard for the first time or an old favourite.
Wed 13 July 2016	'Coward at Sea' - featuring 'Noël Coward's P&O 1930' - Actor/singer and pianist Michael Lunts - Join us aboard the SS Madeira in the company of Noël Coward and an eccentric cast of travelling companions making their way back to the UK in the hey-day of the cruise liner. Featuring such Coward classics as 'Sail Away', 'Matelot', 'Marvellous Party' and, of course, 'Mad Dogs and Englishmen'! Michael Lunts' website
Wed 20 July 2016	'The Birmingham Horn Sound' - "The sound of the horn is the soul of the orchestra" (Robert Schumann). The soul of the orchestra visits Bromsgrove to perform much-loved works from stage, screen, jazz hall and concert hall. Join us to savour the resonance of eight French horns performing a mixture of arrangements and original works for solo horn and horn ensemble from classical to light jazz.
