Sun 6 Nov 2016 'Tuba Spectacular'  -  Stuart Birnie  -  Everyone loves the lowest instrument in the brass section of an orchestra, with its visible dominance and its rich low voice.  Stuart, Assistant Head of the Music Education Service in Birmingham, will illustrate the variety of music written for the tuba and give us an insight into its history and versatility.  Stuart is a member of the British Tuba Quartet.
Sun 11 Dec 2016 'Woodwind Serenade'  -  Arioso Winds  -  Start your Christmas with a lovely programme of varied music from classical to jazz and Christmassy bits and pieces to get us all in the mood.  This woodwind quartet of freelance performers and teachers has been entertaining audiences around the area for private and commercial events since its formation in 1995, and has gained much praise for carefully selected programmes and presentation.

Wed 21 Jun 2017 'Tickling the Ivories'  -  Actor/singer and pianist Michael Lunts  -  Once more, we welcome back Michael - this time for a smile-inducing, laughter-engendering entertainment, as he works his way through ten decades of musical wit.  Alongside songs by Noël Coward, Flanders and Swann, Cole Porter and the Gershwins.  Michael Lunts' website
Wed 28 Jun 2017 The Syska Flute Quartet  -  Providing an entertaining and informative programme of music from many genres on a range of flutes from piccolo to bass.
Wed 5 Jul 2017 'Mendelssohn's Octet'  -  Sinfonia Friends  -  Performed by an octet from the Sinfonia of Birmingham.  This Octet was written when Mendelssohn was only 16, as a birthday present for a friend.  This is one of the most brilliant in the repertoire for chamber strings, and epitomises the perfection of Mendelssohn's light and tuneful music.  Sinfonia of Birmingham's website
